How to develop your charisma!

HOW TO BE CHARISMATIC?

Some people have a way of making us feel important. Some people light up a room just by walking in. We call this “charisma”. It’s one of those things that people assume you’re born with, but that’s not always the case. We can all be more charismatic.

Here are ways you can be more charismatic:

  1. Have a genuine interest and listen with intent.
Ask people questions, maintain eye contact, nod your head and smile. These are some simple ways to make the other person feel important. Charismatic people listen closely to everyone, and they make all of us, regardless of our position or social status, feel like we have something in common with them.
  2. Put your screen away when talking to someone.
Don’t check your phone or glance at your monitor. Focus on the person you are talking to. You can’t connect with others if you’re too busy with your gadgets. The gift of full attention is something a few people give and those who receive it will appreciate it.
  3. Don’t act self-important.
People are usually irritated by self-absorbed individuals and aren’t too thrilled when such individuals enter a room. Instead, shine the spotlight on others. Not a lot of people receive enough praise. So tell people what they did well.
  4. Choose your words carefully.
The words we speak affect the attitude of others and they can affect us. For example, You don’t have to create a presentation for class; you get to share new information with your classmates. You don’t have to interview job candidates; you get to choose a great person to join your team.
  5. Don’t gossip.
Granted, we all like a little gossip. But the truth is no one respects the people who start it. If you’re a gossip, people will lose trust in you as a friend and you will ruin another person’s reputation. Nothing is with that.

So the next time you’re at an event, a work function or in class, remember these tips on how to be more charismatic.
